“Sometimes it's hard to explain the love I have for Istanbul. Many people ask me why I'm still here... And to be honest Istanbul.... That's the city that has brought so much joy into my life, I grew up to be the person I am today by having to experience life here. I met friends that turned into family and experienced life in a way I still can't believe.

Waking up to crappy news like this that's a whole different experience, waking up scared about what's going to happen next, not being able to go places because of nonstop warnings, receiving unbelievable amount of calls and text from family and friends worried and most of all blindly hoping things will get better while having to graduate, focus, study and pass your exams were probably the most difficult things to deal with. I always tell everyone things are better, or things are not as bad as they may seem. But my university has now been shut down along with the bank most of us use... The political problems have affected us (foreign students that came to this beautiful city just to get a higher education) But do I still feel the same way about the city? Always! Am I scared? - I believe no place in this world is safe and all we can do is pray that God will protect us all!” ‪#‎ILoveIstanbul”

A beautiful article written by a beautiful friend of mine, where she shows her unconditional love for a beautiful city. Unconditional love is known as affection without any limitations, it can also be love without conditions. This term is sometimes associated with other terms such as true altruism, or complete love.

Once upon a time there lived a wealthy man in a foreign land who fell in love with simple farm girl, she was always covered in dirt and dust, and people were so surprised to hear that the wealthy man wished to marry her. On the day of their wedding the wealthy man assigned maidens to his bride to look after her; feed her, bathe her, clothe her, they took such good care of her that when she walked down the aisle none could recognize her; she looked so beautiful and graceful.

Years later, it was discovered that his wife had been cheating on her husband, whenever he was out on his merchant journeys. It broke her husband’s heart to find out that after loving his wife unconditionally she cheated on him. The law of the land declared that every adulterer be sentenced to death...

The unconditional love Deborah has for Istanbul means she loves her city no matter what happens she always will. That reminds of a beautiful quote from a beautiful book,

“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8, this beautiful book is called the Bible and it is filled with so much hope and promise for a rebellious bride who constantly forgets her husband but her husband so loved his wife that even when the law demanded death as the penalty for her crime, he paid the price.
